Why am I consuming credits for SMS that did not reach the customer?

An SMS may not reach your customers for various reasons:

  • The phone number do not belong to anyone.
  • The carrier has blocked the message (this can happen in countries like China, usually due to political reasons).
  • Your customer has explicitly informed their carrier to block your messages.
  • Your message has been automatically categorized as spam by the carrier.

However, before knowing that the SMS has not reached your customer, we still need to send the SMS first and pay for the transfer costs. That's why you are charged for such messages.
